High-tension delivery
This was a particularly delicate, but not unusual installation for Wernick Hire. It required a five-bay AVflex system to be positioned on an island between railway sidings and the main East Coast railway line where it passes through North London. In order to make the installation the units had to be craned across the tracks on a Saturday morning, between 7 – 11 am. Wernick Hire raised a Possession Order with Network Rail to get power closed down for the lift across the lines. All power was closed down from 5 am onwards by Network Rail engineers.
The delivery consisted of shower, toilet, canteen, locker room and drying room AVflex units, which had to be carefully lifted across overhead, high voltage power lines. Phil Hodge, Wernick Hire’s depot manager at Banbury commented, “This was a particularly tricky delivery, but everyone involved did an excellent job and our installation team was able to complete well within the time frame allowed by Network Rail”.
This is just one of a number of contracts Wernick Hire has with Network Rail to supply AVflex anti-vandal accommodation.
